Griffin Accelerated Learning Academy has built strong relationships with parents, students, teachers, and schools.

In the Summer of 2022, Griffin Accelerated Learning Academy raised over $5,000 to provide scholarships for students to attend the Virtual Summer Reading Program.

Our Goal for the Summer of 2023 is to offer 45 scholarships to students who live in College Park, GA. According to the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), 76% of College Park, GA, students from first through twelfth grade are reading below grade level. CCRPI

This summer, we aim to help rising first, second, and third graders improve their reading skills and comprehension. Researchers have found over 70% of inmates in America cannot read over fourth-grade reading level.

Early Literacy Connection to Incarceration

Illiteracy and crime are connected. The Department of Justice states, “The link between academic failure and delinquency, violence, and crime is welded to reading failure. Over 70% of inmates in America’s prisons cannot read above a fourth grade level.”
